About the ride from Nha Trang to Da Nang

Even though you feel like you could stay in Nha Trang for weeks, it’s time to continue your coastal journey through Vietnam and explore another seaside jewel, Da Nang.

When traveling the 531 kilometer (330 mile) distance between Nha Trang and Da Nang, you have one transportation option:

  • An affordable bus that takes 10 hours to arrive in Nha Trang. There are daylight, sleeping, and VIP tickets available

You can visit Da Nang at any time of year and have an amazing time. Thanks to a tropical monsoon climate, the town has mild temperatures throughout the entire year. The best time to visit Da Nang is from February to May because the rainfall levels are at their lowest during this time.

What to see when traveling from Nha Trang to Da Nang

What you’re able to see on your journey between Nha Trang and Da Nang depends on your departure time. If you booked a sleeping bus, there won’t be much to see outside of your window. Don’t worry, though. This is the perfect time to rest, or if you can’t sleep on the bus, catch up with some of your work. You’ll arrive in Da Nang early in the morning, and you can start exploring the town right away.

On the other side, if you booked a daytime ticket, you’ll be able to enjoy a scenic ride. The route you’ll be traveling on follows the coast of the South China Sea, and occasionally detours into the lush green countryside.

As soon as you arrive in Da Nang, you should get to know the town and roam the vibrant city streets. You’ll probably be hungry after a long ride, and you can grab a tasty bite at some of the street food joints. Or maybe you’re already craving vitamin sea, and you’ll want to go straight to the beach.

Da Nang is one of the largest cities in all of Vietnam. It has a rich culture, history, and magnificent nature around the city. The top attraction in this area is the Golden Bridge, located right outside of Da Nang. The bridge is located in the Ba Na Hills, and it’s one of the most instagrammable locations in Vietnam.

Back in the city, the Dragon Bridge is a sight you shouldn’t miss out on. Located in the city center, the bridge stretches over 666 meters and is shaped like a dragon, which represents good luck in Vietnam. Every weekend, at 9 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy a lights show on the bridge, and see the dragon spitting out fire and water from its mouth.

The Marble Mountains are a great hiking spot. While you roam around the trails, you’ll come across many Buddhist shrines and pagodas dedicated to local gods.

Da Nang is also home to some interesting museums that will open the door of the local culture and history to you. If you want to learn more about the Cham people in Vietnam, you can go to the Cham Museum. Those who are interested in Ho Chi Minh’s life and work, you can visit a museum dedicated to him. If you’re interested in how the Vietnam war affected this area, go visit the Fifth Military Division Museum.

Don’t forget that Da Nang is a beach destination. Dedicate some time for exploring the area’s beautiful beaches, go snorkeling and diving, or try your luck with surfing.

If you’re looking for a day trip, you can consider visiting the beautiful Cham Islands, which are surrounded by colorful coral reefs, and exotic fish. This is one of the most popular snorkeling spots in the area, and once you see the underwater beauties this place has to offer, you’ll understand why!
