If you travel by bus, minivan or car to Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City, the first part of your adventure will be escaping the chaos and craziness of Ho Chi Minh City’s roads. With herds of motorbikes, gargantuan gridlocks and non-existent traffic rules which seem to work in spite of themselves, it’s an adventure of its own.
Once you emerge out of the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City’s center, you’ll spot smaller towns, working farms and roadside food stops. As the journey continues, the surroundings become more humble, as the land eventually makes way to the shore.

Of these two options, the most affordable and appropriate is the Second Class Train. It’s cheaper, and you enjoy the journey on a seat rather than in a bed. The Second Class Train to Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City takes around 4 hours and costs $15.
The cheapest way to get to Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City is by Local Sleeping Bus, provided by Hanh Cafe. This bus takes around 5 hours and costs around $7. Some journeys take place during the day, while others occur during the night. For all journeys, your ticket entitles you to a bed (akin to a reclining seat) rather than a standard seat.
The most popular way to get to Mui Ne from Ho Chi Minh City is by Luxury Minivan by G5Car. The journey takes 4 hours and costs around $16. With WiFi, incredibly comfortable seats and charging points, it’s a ludicrously luxurious choice.
Buses are an excellent and affordable way to get from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne. If you want to save money, this is your best option.
