- MMMe and my husband rode a ADO bus for the first time from Tulum to Bacalar and then from Bacalar to Cancun. At first we were hesitant but I’m so glad I read more about it. I felt so safe the whole time. The bus was filled with a good mix of other travelers, locals, children and older adults. It is a wonderful means of transportation and incredibly cheaper compared to taxis. We didn’t want to rent a car and run into trouble alone. We felt better being in a group setting. Whenever we travel back to Mexico we will definitely utilize this transport option. We both only speak broken Spanish but could navigate the terminals easily! Buying your ticket in advance will save you lots of stress day off. The lines at Tulúm were long and then of course you will have to speak Spanish to buy tickets in person. Whereas if you just already have a ticket you just wait until your bus arrives and board after showing them your ticket on your phone. Super convenient!
