El viaje de Mendoza a Santiago fue excelente. El único inconveniente fue que me cobraron 20.000 pesos al cargar mi maleta. Creo que la aerolínea debería mejorar los controles sobre el proceso de carga de equipaje y las tarifas.

I purposely entered Chile just to take the bus from Santiago to Mendoza and experience the scenic Andes crossing — and it was absolutely worth it.

I chose Andesmar with a comfortable seat on the second level, left window side, which I highly recommend. The journey took about 9 hours, and for at least 5 hours, I was completely immersed in the breathtaking mountain views, constantly taking photos.

The landscapes along the Andes are truly impressive, with dramatic curves, high peaks, and changing scenery throughout the journey. The seat was comfortable enough for a long ride, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, this trip delivered more than expected for the ticket price. If you enjoy nature and scenic routes, this is definitely something you shouldn’t miss.

It was beyond my expectation.

The journey with CATA across the Andes. The interactions with Bookaway were totally forgettable. We tried to bring our journey forward by 24 hours but every step of the way Bookaway seemed to have no value to add. Booking directly with CATA was much more seamless.

The trip was great and safe. We were however charged for our carry ons and made to pay for them even though other passengers had much larger carry ons they were not made to check and pay for. It was nice the bus stopped to let us get some lunch and the movie they played was entertaining.

The seats that we had chosen were somewhat obscured by decals on the windows. Had we been aware of this when booking we would have had the opportunity to select different seats.
