Preah Vihear is grounds to a spiritual and ancient epicenter, a site very important to Cambodian history at large. The Preah Vihear, ancient Hindu temple has been a long contested grounds between Cambodia and Thailand. It sits on the northern most end of the country. This temple is a relic of the Khmer empire, having been built by kings between the 9th and 12th centuries. Truly, one can spend all day exploring the grounds, learning about where the stones came from, the specifics of ancient building techniques, and the impact of the Khmer Rouge. Come specifically at sunset to see the Dangrek mountains fade into blue .
