1. Start your adventure the right way with a full beach day. Baza Beach, Fjord Bay, and Taba Heights Beach are among the most popular spots, thanks to their turquoise water and white-sand shores.

2. Visit Pharoan Island, Taba's main attraction, on UNESCO's tentative list of sites waiting for greater protection. 

Translating to the Island of the Pharoah, the medieval fortress sits a few hundred meters from the coast atop a rocky island. The citadel has been perched upon the rock overlooking the harbor since the 12th century, once a stop-off point for Crusaders.

Ticket prices for a seat in a shared minivan start at $30, and it will take around two hours to reach Taba.

The driver will pick you up at your chosen hotel in Dahab and drop you off in Taba. The drop-off point will depend on the operator you choose.

Passengers choosing We Bus will need a minimum of three passengers to book this trip, costing $90. When traveling with Cairo Bus, you'll need to bring at least four passengers with you.

You can expect WiFi in some cars, child car seats free of charge, and four large bags per passenger.

Each car can accommodate a maximum of three passengers, so you must book multiple cars or a minivan for larger groups.

The best things about the journey from Dahab to Taba

When is the best time to visit Taba?

The region benefits from a year-round warm climate that largely escapes any hint of winter.

Summer temperatures reach intense peaks, regularly hitting 104°F (40°C), and rainfall is almost nonexistent. If you visit during summer, bring plenty of sunscreen and invest in a parasol to protect yourself while sightseeing because there is barely a cloud in sight.

July is peak tourist season in Taba, so expect to see more crowds. Crowds recede, and the sun follows suit from late August to October, making it the perfect time for late summer vacationers to visit.

Book your trip in the spring, autumn, or winter to avoid the intense summer heat. Winter is best for people who like a hint of heat without being overwhelmed, with temperatures averaging around 68°F (20°C).
