Took the Lake Atitlan (Panajachel) to Flores bus. It did say before booking that we would have to switch buses, but did not specify that I would have to wait 2. 5 hours at night in Guatemala city. The bus stop is in zone 1, which is safe-ish during the day but not recommended for tourists at night, and I found it a bit scary as a solo female traveller. There is a small waiting room at the bus stop with a ticket counter, where it felt safe to wait. 
Otherwise the buses were as scheduled and the night bus from Guatemala city to Flores was very comfortable with reclining leather seats.

Very good overall. Only concerns were that our first bus was an hour late to collect us and we had no way of knowing this. It also made us stress about connections. Our 2nd driver wasn’t aware we had a connection to get to in Guatemala City but after some google translate help he got us to the third bus with time to spare before departure
