The wider province is very scenic, with white sand beaches, mangrove forests, coral reefs and Hat Chao Mai National Park on the doorstep.

You can’t fly from Koh Kood to Trat; traveling by boat is the only option. High-speed ferries, regular ferries and speedboats leave from the pretty fishing village of Ao Salat in the north of the island and arrive at Laem Sok Pier on the mainland, south of Trat town.  Bookaway offers a combination ticket which includes hotel pick up on Koh Kood, and hotel or airport drop off when you reach the mainland, saving on stress and taxis.

If you're moving on from Trat, you can fly to other destinations in Thailand from the small airport which is about 30 minutes from the town. Trat is also a convenient stop if you’re en route to Cambodia via the Hat Lek land border crossing, and traveling on to Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh, or Siem Reap.
