Good to know
Sukhothai is a UNESCO World Heritage city which houses many historical sites and temple ruins. If you’re looking for a fascinating trip into the early history of Thailand, then you’re in for a treat. Sukhothai was the first capital of Siam (old name of Thailand) where it became the birthplace of Thai art, architecture and language. It was once part of the Khmer empire and during its height of power - was very flourishing. Make sure to visit Sukhothai’s Historical Park which houses almost 200 ancient temples and ruins. Wat Mahathat stands as the spiritual centre of the place and a must see when you get there. Visit Sukhothai not only for its historical significance but also the city itself is quiet and rural which still has the charms of Thailand’s old and rustic culture. You’ll enjoy walking around it and shopping too!

Wi-fi is almost standard in hotels, guesthouses and cafes. Signal strength deteriorates in the upper floors of a multistorey building; request a room near a router if wi-fi is essential. Cellular data networks continue to expand and increase in capability.
