Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, is an exciting mix of cultural and nature-based activities. Explore the city’s many UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Pashupatinath Temple, the Boudanath Stupa, and Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha - to name a few. And to get an adrenaline rush, you could always go white water rafting or bungee jump, head first, into the 160 deep Bhote Kosi River gorge.  

The 124 miles (200 km) distance from Pokhara to Kathmandu can be covered by air or road. Multiple departures throughout the day and a quick 30 minute travel time make flights a very convenient option, while buses are very popular due to their economical pricing.

Travel times range from 7 to 8 hours. All bus operators leave from Pokhara at around 06.00 or 07.00 in the morning, which means that you will reach Kathmandu by late afternoon or early evening. All the buses have air conditioning and cushioned seats (some are fitted with comfortable, reclining seats) and make multiple stops for passengers to grab a quick bite and freshen up.
