Tickets were waiting for us at our hotel in Giza when we arrived as promised. The journey itself was on a rickety old train which was as expected and perfect. Train staff couldn’t have been more friendland helpful. Photo view from window prior to setting off from Cairo.

We shared 2 single cabins with an adjoining internal door, which allowed plenty of room for 2 large suitcases and a travel wheelchair. The onboard service by the Abela train staff was very friendly and helpful and English language not a problem. Its not 5 star but very adequate. .

Everything perfect. The crew was really nice. But some customers smoke in the train. If you have any allergy it could be really tough to bear it.
