Vans are in good shape. Some drivers are a bit unfriendly, don't speak English and drive faster than feels safe, but all is good as long as you don't look out the window

We hired a service from Hanoi to Tam Coc and the ride was quick and comfortable. If you're not picked up at your hotel, the pickup point is not the best place to be waiting for the van, is just a narrow sidewalk in an avenue with lots of traffic with no place to sit .

The driver was extremely punctual, but I was the first one to be picked up, so I don’t know exactly about the others. Overall, I drove with 3 different vehicles, but they all were pretty nice and I was even offered a water bottle. So don’t be alarmed if you have to get out of the car, you’re probably only being transferred. The whole trip took me around 3h
