Good to know
Ha Giang is a part of North Vietnam that feels untouched by time. While a visit requires a great level of respect for the ethnic minorities and permits for certain areas, it is amazing to experience a town that is surrounded by so much greenery. If you’re a daredevil, rent a motorbike and explore the villages, mountains with wind in your hair. Be forewarned this is a poor area of Vietnam and the roads are still underdeveloped. Ha Giang is perfect for hikers with caves like the Phuong Thien, or to wander through the expansive rice terraces.
