The most cost-effective option available to travel this route (ticket prices start from $24 per passenger), buses are a popular choice, especially amongst backpackers and budget travelers. With six departure timings (morning and early afternoon), you can choose one that works best with your schedule. The air-conditioned buses take around five and a half to six hours to cover this distance (including the ferry transfer).

Taking a minivan 

Another economical option for getting from Koh Chang to Pattaya, especially if you are traveling as part of a bigger group, is renting a private minivan. These air-conditioned vehicles are perfect for up to 9 passengers and offer hotel pick up and drop off. Travel time is around five to five and a half hours. Please note that the price does not include the ferry tickets. These can be purchased separately at the pier.

Hiring a private car/taxi 

This is the most expensive option amongst all but the fastest and arguably, the most convenient way to travel this route. Perfect for couples who prefer to pay a little extra for the extra legroom and privacy and families with small children who need flexibility in traveling, private taxis take around five hours to reach Pattaya. Please note that, like minivans, the price does not include the cost of ferry tickets, which will have to be purchased separately.
