Nakhon Si Thammarat has been around for centuries. This passing of time brought with it settlers, kingdoms, and thousands of people which built what we may see in modern day Nakhon. Throughout Thailand, sparklingly colorful Buddhist stupas and temples are seen. One which you musn’t miss in Nakhon is the Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan. This may just look like a tongue twister, but, really, it’s one of the most beautiful locations in the country. This stupa complex is filled with white domes, made to resemble a relic of the Buddha’s tooth which is situated inside. Visit Nakhon during the Thai New Year, Songkran, to experience the liveliest and wildest time of the year.
