Overnight buses are the most economical option available. The buses come with cushioned, reclining seats and leave Nha Trang in the late evening and reach Hoi An in the morning, thereby helping save on hotel accommodation.

How to get from Nha Trang to Hoi An

Taking a bus

With ticket prices starting from as low as $13 per person, buses are the most economical way to travel from Nha Trang to Hoi An. All the buses offer evening or night departure times, making it a great way to save on hotel costs. The buses take around 10-13 hours to complete the journey. All the coaches are air-conditioned and fitted with cushioned, reclining seats. Some of the operators provide travelers with a blanket, food, and water. Since the coaches don't have onboard toilets, the buses make multiple stops for restroom breaks.

Taking a minivan 

Perfect if you are traveling as part of a group, minivans are the fastest way to get to Hoi An. Travel times are around 9 - 9 ½ hrs. Most private minivans can accommodate 8-9 passengers and provide hotel pick up and drop off. Some operators even offer a baby car seat for an additional fee making this a good option for those traveling with children.

Hiring a private car/taxi 

Travelers heading to Hoi An from Nha Trang can also book a private taxi or cab. With more legroom, space for luggage, and hotel pick up and drop off, it's the most comfortable way to travel. Travel times are similar to private minivans with the journey taking about 9 - 9 ½ hours. For those traveling with young children, baby car seats are available for an additional charge.

What to see when traveling from Nha Trang to Hoi An?

Those traveling by private minivan or taxi during the day will get to see Vietnam outside its tourist hotspots. The route from Hoi An to Nha Trang takes you through the picturesque Vietnamese countryside and typical rural and village scenes.
